Heat Embossing on Vellum
Having difficulty seeing the transparent embossing ink on vellum? Here’s a trick to line up the stamped images (especially letters and words). Using black ink, stamp the image on a light colored paper and then place it under the vellum. Use this as a guide when you do the actual stamping on the vellum.
Perfect Eyelets
Ever had your eyelets becoming distorted when you pound them onto the paper? Try placing an old mouse pad on top of your cutting mat. The extra layer is just what you need to “cushion the blow”. You’ll get perfectly pounded eyelets every time.
Heat Embossing Tip
Create a safe, effective area to heat emboss on by wrapping a magazine with aluminum foil and place it in a clipboard. The clip can be used to hold down the item you’re embossing, and the foil will heat the back of your paper to speed up the melting of the powder. This helps to keep the paper from warping.
Before You Stamp
Want to include a stamped image on a page but not sure how it will look on your finished layout? Try this easy tip. Apply chalk to the rubber stamp, and stamp as desired. If you like the placement, then simply stamp again with ink. If you decide against it, just erase the chalk image.
Fast Photo Mats
Cut photo mats and even lettering, with scissors for a quick, casual look.
