- Generally, foam stamps or less detailed rubber stamps work best with paint. However, if the paint is applied correctly, any stamps can be used.
- Apply paint evenly to the stamp to avoid having too much paint going into the stamp’s crevices. Place the selected color/s onto a tile, glass mat or plastic sheet and use a sponge roller to roll it to an even thickness. Continue until roller is coated evenly then run it over the top of the stamp. Make sure the image is completely covered. Press stamp firmly onto your desired surface without rocking and lift off cleanly.
- Alternatively, for stamps with limited detail, the stamp face can be hand painted with a small brush. Add Retarder Medium (1:3) to delay drying time of paint.
- Mix Textile Medium with paint (1:2) for permanent fabric painting. Follow the instructions for heat setting on the bottle.
- Try rolling a thin layer of Texture Paste over a sheet of cardstock and while still wet, press a stamp/s into the surface. Once dry, highlight the imprint/s by dry brushing with desired color.
